It has been called an urban powerhouse that encapsulates Hong Kong’s overwhelming energy and this five-star harbour-front hotel is one of those places where you like to check in but not to check out. And there is absolutely no need to leave the hotel. It has everything under one roof and it impresses on all fronts. After my impeccably smooth check-in, I went for a swim in one of its two roof-top pools with spectacular views of Victoria Harbour which, by the way, you can also enjoy from many of the rooms. I was invited to an unforgettable lunch by the charming new Director of PR & Marketing Chu Chin Wong in Lung King Heen, the world’s first three Michelin star Cantonese restaurant. When I talked to Chef Chan Yan Tak afterwards, he explained that he had actually came out of retirement to join the Four Seasons Hong Kong but that the opportunity to work with a management that really believes in creativity and providing only the best experience possible had made the decision easy. You can also choose to visit the three Michelin star Caprice for an elegant French dinner or the two Michelin star Sushi Saito. And then, last but not least, move to the bar for a cocktail created by its award-winning mixologist Lorenzo Antinori. The people-watching is also unrivalled: it’s Hong Kong at its most glamorous and cosmopolitan best.
