Hotel du Palais Biarritz is the palace hotel of the Pays Basque, a resplendent throwback to an opulent era. The ornate white and maroon structure was built as a summer residence for Empress Eugenie and Napoleon III and then rebuilt as a hotel around the turn of the last century.
